Duties And Responsibilities
- Implement the innovation component of the 3R project in Senegal
Gather inputs and coordinate the preparation of work-plans, periodic narrative progress reports and expenditures status reports to the Programme Steering and Advisory Committees and UN Women;
Establish systems for project planning, implementation and monitoring, in collaboration with partners;
Record and maintain documents on relevant activities, issues, and risks.
Coordinate relationships with national partners to support implementation of the project;
Identify capacity building needs and support partners through technical assistance, mentoring, training and capacity development initiatives, as needed.
- Monitoring and reporting on the innovation component of the 3R project
Gather and compile all information necessary for monitoring and reporting on the project;
Monitor the implementation of activities and the expenditure of funds; conduct regular monitoring visits, as required;
Draft and provide inputs to annual and quarterly reports; coordinate the submission of implementing partner financial and narrative reports;
Provide inputs in the area of innovation for Women’s Economic Empowerment activities and results to county, regional and global reporting.
Coordinate development and preparation of financial reports of the project including budgeting and budget revisions, and expenditure tracking and reporting;
Monitor the allocation and disbursement of funds to implementing partners;
- Advocate and facilitate knowledge building and management and communication
Document the project implementation process and products;
Contribute to the exchange of information and provide inputs to the development of knowledge products internally and externally of the project;
Coordinate the organization of major advocacy campaigns, events, trainings, workshops, briefings and knowledge products.
Advise on gender and innovation
Provide advice to the Senegal Country Office and the Regional Office for West and Central Africa on issues related to innovation solutions for unpaid care, and innovation for women’s economic empowerment

Required Skills And Experience
Education and Certiications
Master’s degree or equivalent in innovation, science and technology, gender equality, social sciences or other related areas is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experiences
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in managing complex and multi-component programme interventions with national partners, in the area of Innovation for Women’s Economic Empowerment;
Experience working in West and Central Africa on Innovation for Women’s Economic Empowerment is an asset
Experience in coordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating development programmes and projects is an asset.
Languages
Fluency in English and French is required;
Working knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
