ALX and The Room are two brands of the African Leadership Group. ALX is our training arm, focused on developing skills for the fourth industrial revolution - software engineering, data science, UX design, cyber security, etc.) to ensure that Africa is able to compete effectively as the world undergoes a digital transformation. ABOUT THE TALENT READINESS TEAM

Our team builds holistic learning programs aimed at lightweight skills development focused on labour market needs, behaviours, and mindsets that accelerate work placement. We scaffold these programs with unique experiences and support systems to help guide our participants throughout their learning journey. We develop talent in various verticals, such as Software Engineering, cloud computing, cybersecurity, executive assistants and financial analysts.

You will be working with a talented team of smart creatives that have a bias to action, learn by doing, are brave, bold and humble. This is a chance to be part of a team cracking a code that can fundamentally transform the future of Africa - two million entry-level jobs by 2030.

ABOUT AFRICA CAREER CATALYST BOOTCAMP (ACC)

The ACC bootcamp aims to equip young talent for the working environment and prepare them for unlocking job opportunities. This is a 5-week long fully digital program that we are targeting to offer to 5, 000 young Francophone Africans in 2022.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, your mission is to oversee the programmatic elements, events, and operations within the ACC program. As our Program & Operations Specialist you are joining us to help scale up product delivery and the number of participants we can serve by building robust operational systems and a powerful community.

More specifically, you will:

  • Manage the program calendar including expert sessions and events.
  • Build connections with mentors, speakers, experts and more.
  • Community platform and moderation: Set up platforms to ensure participants are onboarded and know how to navigate the community platform, plus monitor their usage and support moderation e.g., Slack, Discord.
  • Communications: Support communication with participants including those in the pre program, onboarding, and exiting/graduating stages via community platforms and email.
  • Program support & queries : Ensure that there are processes, resources and tools to enable participants to thrive in the software engineering learning pathway, including interventions for those that may have fallen behind.
  • Event experience design and adaptation
  • Enhance systems and processes in collaboration with UX designer to improve the customer experience.
  • Track Data, especially around milestone and program completion
  • Feedback for Product Development: Manage customer feedback via observation, surveys, and interviews to inform Community Strategy and Product Development

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years operations and systems building experience in a high growth/scale environment.
  • You have a customer orientation and stewardship mindset, with great instincts and experience fostering a powerful community.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills: you can effectively communicate in English and French
  • You have the ability to plan your work and meet all deadlines:
  • Accuracy and attention to detail: You pay close attention to all of the small particulars when working on a task or project.
  • Interpersonal skills: You can work well with others.
  • Critical Thinking: You can objectively analyse a problem in order to form a judgement.
  • Restless excellence: You continuously strive and aim for excellence in your work

  • Innovativeness and creativity: You have a tendency to use your imagination to create or introduce something new or different in any situation
  • Humility and openness to feedback: You are always looking to learn and have an insatiable curiosity and hunger to grow.


KPIs :

  • % of members who report that it was “very easy” or “somewhat easy” to get comfortable with using our community platform, LMS, and other systems. 
  • % of participants attending Community events.
  • CSAT on each micro-experience and Community event.
  • Completion rate on each module/milestone.
  • NPS

We would also like to remind you that this is a remote job, which means that you can work from anywhere in the world. However, we have a strong preference for candidates who are based in Abidjan, where we have an existing team dedicated to supporting our activities in the Francophone region.
